The interactive map serves as both an interface to the ICSE data repository as well as a source of information about unconventional fuel resources in North America, with a special focus on Utah oil sands (tar sands) and Green River Formation oil shale. The map includes a Uinta Basin oil shale well layer that is rich with data specific to each well. In addition to Utah heavy oil fields, the heavy oil layer includes information about fields throughout North America such as on the Alaskan North Slope specifically West Sak, Milne Schrader and other locations.
