Integral to ICSE's mission is holding industry, academic and public outreach events and sponsoring education efforts in order to foster discussion of energy policy issues and the role of unconventional fossil fuels in the nation's energy portfolio. ICSE hosts an annual Oil Sands Conference, Energy Policy Forum and numerous workshops and topical seminars, all of which aim to facilitate interdisciplinary integration of research and analysis and to encourage the flow of information among government, industrial, academic, and public constituencies.
